Description
The high altitude, temperate climate, and rich soil of Guatemala result in the production of outstanding washed arabica coffees. Unique to Guatemala coffee production is the burning of pitch to prevent frost damage, which both protects the plants and imparts a distinctive taste to the coffee. As a result, Guatemalan coffee is often considered one of the most flavorful “new world” coffees.
Guatemalan coffee is very complex, lively, and aromatic, with pronounced acidity. Guatemalan coffees have a characteristic mild smoky flavor. This particular varietal has hints of currant, lemon, butterscotch and dark chocolate with medium body.
