Description
This exceptional African coffee is well-balanced with low acidity and a rich and creamy body. It can have floral or berry notes and has a smooth finish.
Burundi coffee is largely produced organically (by default because most cannot afford chemicals) by family owned farms in the northern part of the country. All coffee is shade grown and wet-processed.
Sadly, the country is still struggling with the effects of civil war and yet, though it has one of the lowest per capita incomes in Africa, as a commitment to the coffee industry and their community, the coffee workers are paid above the government minimum wage and farmers are provided seedlings in a nursey program.
